The
Upper Sacramento River
The Upper Sac has nearly forty miles of quick and easy access beginning
with crystal clear springs just minutes from our home. While Native
American guides introduced productive nymphing techniques on this river
before the turn of the century, we feel the Sac is an ideal location
to explore a variety of successful techniques and tactics. The Upper
Sac is an amazingly rich and productive freestone stream and home to
the Shasta Rainbow Trout, which grows hearty on the diversity of aquatic
life the river affords. Our walk and wade adventures are designed to
develop versatile approaches to take advantage of the endless variety
of scenic riffles, runs, pools and pocket water this river hosts. The
river trails in spring are lined with amazing wildflower displays,
with fall months featuring wild blackberry feasts. Plan on sharing
your experience with ouzels, osprey and otters.
