Beginner’s Luck on Klamath River Steelhead Guided Trip
December 1st
Duncan and Bob traveled from California’s Central Valley for a day of guided fly fishing for Steelhead on the Klamath River. Again the weather was absolutely gorgeous but the large adult Steelhead we have been seeing were a bit tight lipped. We hooked a few and landed a couple while the Half Pounder bite kept our hopes alive for the illusive bigger fish as we made our way through several promising runs.
Duncan is an experienced steelheader while Bob is newer to the sport and as “beginner” luck would have it Bob’s line would enjoy the bulk of the dancing on the end of his line. Duncan has fished enough to appreciate that on his next day out his luck could balance out enough so that perhaps he might enjoy one of those epic days the Klamath is famous for later this season.
