Northern California Fishing Guides enjoy the Lower Sacramento River
February 2010
Local fishing guides Craig Nielsen, George Durand and Bob Norman enjoyed a beautiful day on the Lower Sacramento while hosting the Shasta Trinity Fly Fishers on one of their fishouts. Each of these great local guides have been fishing the river for over 30 years and shared some tips with the Redding based fly fishing club members. Everyone caught fish and George put on a bit of a show sticking fish after fish on his beautiful original hand tied patterns. Most fish came on large dark Stonefly patterns but we also found a fair number of fish on March Brown nymphs and enjoyed a light but steady hatch of BWO’s. Some early spring caddis made a showing in the afternoon as well. A fine day to be on the river with such good company.
