Fly Fishing Guide to Switch Rods on the Klamath & Lower Sacramento Rivers

Bob with a Beautiful Chunky Klamath Steelhead Three days of  guided fly fishing with switch rods

November 23-25th

Bob was looking for a few guided days of fly fishing to help dial in his switch rod techniques after meeting us last winter at our switch rod casting presentations at the Fly Fishing Show.   We loaded up our 10-11 ft. two handers with the latest compact Skagit and Scandi lines along with floating steelhead tapers for a little nymphing.  We attached our fastest sinking versitips and even several feet of T14 to be certain to dig deep.  We attached flies with legs, eggs, tiny nymphs, leeches and even a few classic wets.  Bob was game for it all.  We discovered our greatest success nymphing with indicators for Steelhead on the Klamath and trophy trout on the Lower Sac but enjoyed some success swinging for Steelhead on the Klamath as well, primarily finding fish with some small classic wets.   It turned into a very productive and instructive three days.  We look forward to exploring some other switch rod venues with Bob again soon.
