Flywater Travel's new Alaska & Northwest representative David Kalinowski is pleased with his first Klamath River SteelheadNew Flywater Northwest and Alaska travel representative David Kalinowski joined Shasta Trout guides Craig Nielsen and Tom Steele last week to scout the Klamath River in the hopes of finding some Salmonfly dry fly fishing and a few early steelhead.  David landed a nice wild steelhead in the first run of the day but the dry fly fishing was a bit of a disappointment as the bugs were just getting started.

Northern California fly fishing guide Tom Steele poses a typical Klamath River springtime half pounderWater conditions are quite low and fishable but the water continues to be stained with about two to two and a half feet of visibility.   Clarity improved later this week and more bugs are on the way, so stay tuned!
