Fly Fishing Freestones
Craig traveled to Kensington in the east Bay Area to present a program to the Grizzly Peak Fly Fishing Club on techniques and tactics for successfully Fly Fishing Freestones such as the McCloud, Upper Sac & Pit Rivers. We spent about half an hour tying “Folksflies”, flies for the everyday angler, a sampling of patterns that are fun, easy to tie and most importantly exceptionally effective. After a splendid dinner of Chicken Catchatori, tossed salad and garlic bread the evening multi media show was given to a lively and engaged audience which willing shared their stories and experience. The club members have a wide range of abilities from novice to seasoned “old timers” and all enjoyed a good laugh as well as garning a tip or two. A few commented after the show that it was the best presentation they had seen in the eight years they have attended. We’ll take that as a compliment though they were such friendly folks we suspect they probably tell that to all the guides ;>)
