This friendly couple was interested in getting started fly fishing so signed up for our full day Introduction to Flyfishing onstream workshop. We started the day learning knots, and the various ways to rig our rods including fly selection. We followed by developing a working knowledge of entomology, hydraulics and fish habitat. We learned both the overhead and roll casts as well as introducing a variety of successful presentation techniques and tactics. We developed stealthy wading techniques that allowed us to position ourselves ideally to entice trout with our offerings. Christie and Roger rose several fish, and Christie was able to bring a fish to hand. More importantly they gained the knowledge to enable them to successfully fly fish the remainder of the day and for years to come.
