Lower Sacramento River
Judy and Shiz are a delightful couple and seasoned fly fishers who typically visit us for a trip or two each season and this summer decided on a few days on the Lower Sacramento River in pursuit of trophy trout, with local guide Craig Nielsen. They enjoyed a consistently good bite the first day though few exceptionally large fish were found. The second day the grab slowed a tad but they hooked several fish that were over the magical 20″ mark, including one Judy landed on a size 20 fly, allowing her to join the 20/20 club and gain entry into Shasta Trout’s Hawg of Fame.
