The typical tradition is for fathers to take their sons fishing. In this case we enjoyed a little role reversal as Terry and Aaron who are seasoned anglers treated their fathers, who had never fly fished, to a driftboat trip steelheading on the Klamath River. Conditions could not have been better, the weather was great, the fish were in and on the grab and the fall colors were magnificent! We caught big ones, little ones and everything in between. The steelies were a bit grabbier, particularly on egg flies the first day but the skills we honed made up for a bit slower bite the second day, when Terry had several very nice fish to hand. Terry and Aaron are sure to be back for more and now that the Dad’s are hooked, perhaps a fall father son reunion is in the works!
