Richard's Big Buck Richard

Richard and his wife Patricia headed north with their sweet golden lab Sugar for a vacation and a little fishing.  They are both retired socal secondary school teachers and Richard coached football and track as well.  Patricia toured Redding and the Sundial Bridge with Sugar while Richard and I chased rainbows.  Though his preferred species is bass he knows how to handle a flyrod and has caught a trout or two in the past seventy years.  He also turned out to be a fine student putting some stylish mends on his drifts while developing a wicked hook set.   One memorable fish ran him into a snag, another into the anchor but many others were not as fortunate.   More than once other anglers asked what we were using, we even gave one of them a few flies.   The truth is on the end of Richard’s line it probably didn’t matter all that much.  This guy is a true fisherman and as a testament he enjoyed every minute of it, even the lost one that will haunt him.  Look out Bass!

Thank you Craig for a wonderful day of fishing. My first time on the Sac. You are an excellent teacher with a wonderful knowledge and attitude. You made my day exceptional. I strongly recommend anyone interested in hiring a guide for that area get in touch with you.
