Judy and Tim
This delightful couple traveled over from the north coast for a day of driftboat fishing on the Lower Sac. They fish with us a few times each season including a spectacular adventure at Fishing Bear Lodge in Alaska this summer. On this warm summer day we opted to float our favorite upper drift from the Posse Grounds to Bonneview boat ramp. Lower Sacramento River flows were reduced last week allowing passage through the Cypress Street Bridge construction and this float has reopened. While the weather was a bit hot (though cooler on the river than we expected) the hot bite made up for it. We got grabbed and hooked fish on nearly every drift with only a short lull before sunset when it turned back on. We landed only a fraction of the big beautiful Rainbows we hooked but with so many opportunities it worried us not. We are planning a return trip to Fishing Bear and I can’t wait to join them again next season.
