This trip was a birthday celebration for Mike. Debbie and Russ are regulars but Tamara and Mike are new to fly fishing so we had scheduled a float on the Klamath targeting the Salmonfly hatch, a perfect intro trip. Unfortunately water temps on the Klamath reached unfishable conditions so we rescheduled the trip for the Lower Sac where air temps can get warm but the water is always cold. Debbie got us started with a few nice fish in the morning and passed the torch to Russ who got it going before a late picnic lunch along with some Champagne and Cupcakes (with candles) for the birthday boy. The singing must have inspired him as Mike got hot in the afternoon and landed several very nice fish. Happy Birthday Mike, wishing you many more!
