April 14th

Craig has been fly fishing Northern California for nearly fifty years and guiding on the McCloud River, Upper Sacramento River and Pit River for nearly two decades now.  He attended the monthly meeting of the Shasta Trinity Fly Fishers were he was the featured speaker and tier, sharing his knowledge with the multimedia program “Fly Fishing Freestones”.  The tying session featured “Folksflies” simple and effective ties for the everyday angler.  It was an opportunity  to get members stoked about the upcoming season opener on April 24th.  The program featured techniques, tactics and strategies for fly fishing these local freestone gems.  This is the most active club we have encountered with multiple fishouts scheduled each month and seasoned anglers who share their expertise willingly. It was a lively and informative evening with close friends.  Dick Recchia, the club president was the winning bidder on the trip ShastaTrout donated to the club.  We are looking forward to fishing with him and the other club members who took advantage of our special club discount.
