Denis with a chunky McCloud River Brown Trout

Denis & Tench

There was little surface activity to be seen on the McCloud River this day so we nymphed both with an indicator and with droppers under a dry fly.  The fish enjoyed our offerings and we enjoyed the bent rods.  Any time we put a good first cast and drift through a run we’d hook a fish, including several chunky Rainbow Trout in the upper teens.  Denis landed this nice Brown Trout in a little pocket were we might have only expected a dink.   Tench found several fish looking up that grabbed his big attractor dry as well.  These guys join a half dozen other friends each season for a long weekend reunion and this one was a good one!
