Two Lower Sacramento River fly fishers land trophy trout in same week.

Val with a true Lower Sac winter porker Ryan celebrates his Shasta Trout Hawg of Fame entry Two Lower Sacramento River fly fishers enjoyed some spectacular weather and were treated to some trophy Rainbows this past week that gained them entry into Shasta Trout’s Hawg of Fame. Valerie spent the day with her delightful friend and regular fishing pal, Maggie who landed some trophies herself.  Ryan invited his father in law for good luck and it worked, as he absolutely lit it up finding trophy after trophy, including his largest trout ever!  The sunny weather has left but the big ‘bows remain, drop us a line to schedule your date with one!

We are wondering about the fly fishing the first of October or the first of Sept. Larry

    Larry:
Thanks for the question. September and October are very popular months for most of our local rivers, with the exception that Steelheading on the Klamath and Trinity doesn’t really get going until October.
