Two Lower Sacramento River Fly Fishers enter ShastaTrout “Hawg of Fame”

Paul with a bright beautiful Lower Sac trophy 'bow Kelly with ShastaTrout Lower Sac Rainbow Lower Sacramento River, September 2010

September on the Lower Sac has been a special month with some real trophies showing up and the last week of the month this year turned out to be a special one for two regular guests as they landed exceptional fish.

Paul schedules a trip each September and before his first day he mentioned that he had not yet entered the ShastaTrout “Hawg of Fame”.  On this trip he had two fish that were memorable but an incredibly beautiful ‘bow he landed under the Sundial Bridge after a very spirited battle turned out to be the trophy he was looking for. Congratulations!

Kelly is a keen angler always looking to improve his craft.  On this day he landed a number of fish with his average falling below twenty inches only at the end of the day when he landed several fish in the lower teens.  The chunky bow that taped a bit over two feet was his first fish of the day is the largest trout he has ever landed on a fly.  A truly magical day, and a ShastaTrout “Hawg of Fame” entry as well.
