This event put on by The River Exchange in Dunsmuir supports watershed education and celebrates the opening of the general trout season. This year Dunsmuir High students presented watershed programs and fly tying demonstrations while the local Cal Trout office provided casting instruction alongside wildlife and watershed displays, science projects, sidewalk sales, food, music and art. Local ShastaTrout guides Fred Gordon and Wayne Eng kicked off the festivities with their presentation “Romancing the Rivers” Friday night at the Brown Trout Gallery. Craig volunteered Saturday morning assisting with student’s fly tying demonstrations and Cal Trout’s casting demos, games and instruction. It was a beautiful weekend and wonderful way to celebrate our local rivers.
