Derek and Rick escaped the valley heat to enjoy a cool day wading on the Upper Sac. Derek hasn’t fished in the area before and it has been far too long since his father, Rick last joined us. Father and son trips are the best particularly if they are the guide’s brother and nephew. Derek is a quick study and after Rick landed a little gem, stuck a fish in the upper teens. After trying to run upstream with him unsuccessfully Derek brought it to net and posed smartly while the guide’s trusty camera failed due to a dead battery. Undetered Derek proceeded to land several more fish but none quite the match of his first. We hope and expect to see these great guys more frequently in the near future.
